Depression Counselling

“The only thing more exhausting than being depressed is pretending that you’re not.”

You are not alone.

One of the biggest challenges with depression is dealing with those around you who can’t understand what you are going through.

Most people feel sad or depressed at times. It’s a normal reaction to loss or life's challenges. But when intense sadness -- including feeling helpless, hopeless, and worthless -- lasts for many days to weeks and keeps you from living your life, it’s something more than a bad day or a funk. Depression is a lack of interest in life and the struggle is real.

It's not uncommon for people with depression to find that their biggest challenge is dealing with the judgement of others towards how they feel. The weight, the numbness, and the difficulty feeling any kind of motivation, is sometimes seen by others as you being “lazy or unproductive”. Receiving these judgements doesn’t help.

Our counsellors get it.

We understand the difficulties that depression can bring into someone’s life, and we also know that it goes deeper than the symptoms. We also get that it takes time to learn to open up and connect to what’s at the core is of what is causing your depression. We’re here to support you so you can heal from your struggles, tap into some motivation, and bring back energy into your life.

We promise to nurture a space where you feel safe and valued - as you are - so you can explore how you’re stuck and find freedom with no judgment or fear of failure.

We view counselling as a joint process, between you and your counsellor, as you work towards a common goal — to empower positive change and improve the quality of your life — both now and in the future.

As mental health care professionals, our purpose is to help you identify your obstacles that are causing you to feel down or lonely. We promise to serve as your guide, helping you find your path and discover opportunities for growth along the way.

We will look at your current situation more in-depth to help you understand what’s holding you back and what’s causing you to feel so overwhelmed. From there we will get to the heart of your difficulties, make a plan, and help you develop the skills you need so you can better manage or resolve what’s troubling you.

Our goal is that by the end of our sessions you will not only have found relief, but you will feel empowered to boldly grow forward towards the life you want.

Or, let us help you find that right therapist fit.

The form takes less than 60 seconds to complete, and we’ll reach out with a couple of options for a free 20 minute consultation.
