Therapy offers a safe space for you to connect with your intuition, foster self-confidence, and bravely express your authentic self to the world.

As your psychotherapist, my role is to provide you with the care you need to navigate the healing process and address the challenges/questions that have motivated you to seek support.

People come to me with a wide range of needs - be healing from trauma, managing persistent anxiety, breaking unwanted habits, achieving a better work-life or school-life balance, improving self-esteem, or navigating significant life changes. Together, we can work towards a better, brighter day-to-day life.

At The heart of My Approach to Therapy is a Deep Respect for You & Your Experiences

My foundation as a therapist is built from a humanistic, client-centered approach. In practice, this means I tailor each to your specific needs. I take the time to understand where you're coming from and where you hope to go. This personalized approach allows me to use the therapies and strategies that best align with your needs and goals. My only goal is to provide the right support you need from each session, whether that's a fresh perspective, emotional validation, or an action plan for your life's challenges.

My Path to Psychotherapy

My journey towards becoming a mental health professional began quite early in my life. I grew up with my parents - who welcomed foster children into our home. From these foster siblings, I saw firsthand the transformative power of therapy. I witnessed positive changes in them as they began to feel safe in our home, while receiving extra support from counsellors. Their rough edges would soften, and soon enough, they were able to laugh again, and relax more easily. These experiences instilled in me the understanding that therapists really can change lives for the better.

As a teenager, I was drawn to learning about the human psyche. I was intrigued by people's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I relished the process of piecing together the puzzle of human emotions and motivations. The moment I opened my first psychology book at the age of 16, I knew this was the path for me.

Throughout my life, I’ve sought the guidance of a therapist to heal from trauma, and during periods of self-discovery. This was especially true in my 20s, a time filled with uncertainty and self-exploration. With therapy, I have learned, grown, and healed. I went from an introvert with low self-esteem to someone who can confidently express herself and establish healthy boundaries. Seeing a counsellor has provided me with personal growth and has also enriched my skills as a mental health professional.

What To Expect in Our Therapy Sessions

When we meet, you can expect a great conversation with someone who is actively listening to you. Your counselling sessions are focused on your needs, your wants, and your story. It’s a time to connect with that quiet inner voice - this is where healing, and new growth begins.

From a clinical standpoint, I use a blend of therapeutic methods, ranging from trauma informed therapies like Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), to behaviour shifting supports such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to cutting edge techniques like Brainspotting. My role is to weave these skills together to create a tapestry of support that best serves you. Each therapeutic method brings its unique strengths to the table, and the integration of them allows for a holistic approach to your mental health.
