" Where you look affects how you feel."

David Grand, Discoverer of the Brainspotting technique

It’s the unexpected that changes our lives.

Brainspotting therapy supports the process of reconnecting with your inner wisdom, so you can heal and grow.

There is increasing evidence that trauma is “stored” in the body and that it can alter the way you experience the world. Trauma can, for example, have an effect on your emotions, memory, and physical health. Brainspotting (BSP) is a relatively new type of therapy designed to help people access, process, and overcome trauma, negative emotions, and pain, by activating the body’s innate ability to heal itself.

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD or any other challenges that are impacting your life, Brainspotting has been found to be an effective form of treatment for a variety of mental health concerns. Brainspotting is a way to access emotions on a deeper level and target the effects of your trauma while your trained Brainspotting therapist helps you with the issues that you find hard to face on your own.

If you’re looking for help before everything comes falling apart… and want to feel empowered to overcome those obstacles that are hindering your well-being, we can help.

Our counsellors are trained to help you break through what’s holding you back.

Brainspotting is both direct and supportive. During brainspotting your therapist - with the aid of a spot - helps you position your eyes in ways that enable you awaken the somatic sensations arising in your nervous system and brain, targeting the sources of negative emotion. At the same time, you are slowly guided to look for a 'resource' point, an eye position that allows for a feeling of calmness. Through these two points, you and your therapist would work to process and reduce, or extinguish, the intense feelings connected to the traumatic event.

After a number of Brainspotting sessions, clients have reported no longer feeling triggered by memories or experiences in the present, or that they arrive at a place where the trigger is more manageable.

We promise to nurture a space where you feel safe and valued - as you are - so you can explore what you want from your future with no judgment or fear of failure.

We view counselling as a joint process between you and your therapist working towards a common goal — to empower change and improve the quality of your life — both now and in the future.

As mental health care professionals, our purpose is to help you identify your obstacles, help you find your path and discover opportunities for growth along the way.

We will look at your current situation more in-depth to help you understand what’s holding you back and what’s causing you to feel so overwhelmed. From there we will get to the heart of your difficulties, make a plan, and help you develop the skills you need so you can better manage or resolve what’s troubling you.

Our goal is that by the end of our sessions you will not only have found relief, but you will feel empowered to boldly grow forward towards the life you want.

Or, let us help you find that right therapist fit.

The form takes less than 60 seconds to complete, and we’ll reach out with a couple of options for a free 20 minute consultation.
