Self-Esteem & Perfectionism Counselling

Do you struggle with confidence and self-doubt?
In adulthood, any demoralizing life experience can reduce our self-esteem. Being passed over for a promotion, going through a breakup, not being invited to a social event, and other life changes can cause fear or self-doubt. These feelings can affect your self-worth, confidence, and resilience. Once these factors are compromised, any person may be more prone to developing negative beliefs and self-talk patterns that impact their overall well-being.
Our self-esteem draws upon the beliefs we have about ourselves. When we are struggling with our confidence, we start to feel shame and self-doubt. It’s easy for this self-doubt to lead to comparison… we judge ourselves inferior to others and start spending a lot of time criticizing our faults and weaknesses. People can cope with low self-esteem in different ways but if left unattended the cycle of self-criticism can drain away a person’s joy in life…manifesting into several mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and imposter syndrome. But… it doesn’t have to be that way.
