The requirements
Are you a mental health professional who is passionate about helping adolescents, teens, and adults connect with their vulnerability and live better lives? Do you love seeing clients virtually? Are you drawn to relational, emotional, or body-based approaches that promotes a long-term (6 month or longer) relationship with clients?
- A strong desire to help others through the practice of Psychotherapy and counselling therapy.
- Education and training in relational, emotional, and/or body-based Psychotherapy such as EMDR, Brainspotting, or Somatic Therapy. (we don’t do much CBT or Solution Focused therapy here!)
- A grounded, empathetic presence
- Willingness to learn best practices in offering virtual sessions
- Minimum of a master’s degree (or equivalent) in Psychotherapy, Social Work, Psychology, or Couples and Family Therapy
- Registration with a college that authorizes you to practice psychotherapy or counselling therapy (psychotherapist, counselling therapist, psychologist, or social worker).
- Couples training an asset
- Somatic psychotherapy training is an asset (EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, etc.)
- A modern computer and some proficiency with technology and troubleshooting is necessary
